This is the Lord Shiva's statue @ Murudeshwara, Karnataka. This is one of the tallest Shiva idols. There are two other idols of Shiva - one in Bangalore and the other is in Bijapur.

@priya: It sure is an amazing idol.. But the parts of the idol are falling down... (See carefully towards right of the photo... you can see the cementing done on the idol) which is spoiling the image and reason for which the idol is famous...
There are (according to my knowledge) 2 more similar idols in the world... one is in Bangalore near the Airport and the other one is Bijapur... Do check out both... The idol @ Bijapur is more majestic that the one at Murudeswara...
"Amazing" was the first word that came into my mind on viewing this, before seeing that Priya had used it. Good shot. Well framed.
