Hi All, This is my tenth photo from my Bijapur-Gulbarga trip collection...
I visited this temple in the night after reaching Gulbarga. The temple looked stupendous, even though it doesn't look the same in the photo. I tried my level best to capture the image in the night mode, but without a tripod and the chilling breeze didn't allow me to take a better photo than this one...
One funny incident happened at this place... In India, esp in temples, we Hindus drop a coin (or some money) into the Hundi (a box kept only to receive money which is used for various purposes such as improvising the temple to giving it to the poor)... when I was doing that, a boy of around 4-5 years started begging me for money (to put it exactly - the child was asking me for some paisa - the lowest denomination that existed in Indian currency - but still used commonly to mean money) I was against giving any money to the child so also were my friends. Because we thought that it may become a habit for the child who may grow up to become a bigger beggar!!! Anyways, I refused to give him anything and the child started beating me!!! At that time my friends, came to my rescue and started pulling out the child away from me. (coz I was reluctant to push such a small child away)... I was laughing loudly whereas my friends were trying there level best to separate me from the child. And this became a big joke for all of them who had come to the temple for the night pooja....
I can never forget this day nor the child who is responsible for making it such a memorable night...

@Srik: It is a very famous temple.. If you are planning to visit the place then do visit it during the Winter season.. The temperature at Gulbarga (and all parts of Northern Karnataka) will be very hot reaching upto 50 degrees Celsius.
And more than anything else... thank you much for dropping by my blog frequently... and for giving invaluable comments...
