Kingfisher

The ride in the boat wasn't a pleasant one esp. with lots of children around it was difficult to concentrate on the photography in the first place and secondly balancing the boat!!

While rest of them were busy searching for an animal, I was very happy seeing a lonely Kingfisher on the dead tree.... And without even telling my family members, I shot this photograph of the Kingfisher using my 55-200mm Nikon Nikkor lens.

It is not one of the best photographs... but it was the first time that I was photographing from a moving vehicle esp. a boat... and hence this and other photographs taken during the boat trip in "Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary" are very close to my heart.
